Children and Youth

Then he (Jesus) said to them, " "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me;  and whoever  welcomes me, welcomes the one who sent me." " --Luke 9:48

Live B.I.G. Curriculum

We use Live B.I.G. in our ministry to children and youth because we want to equip children of all ages with the information they need to know God and Jesus Christ.  Our goal is help them experience God and learn to mirror Christ in their daily lives.

Our children and youth enjoy this video-based curriculum that features contemporary music, and interactive high-definition discussion clips to help grab and hold their interest.

Younger Students meet at "The Station"

Children in Pre-K through Grade 5 attend Sunday School each week at "The Station." Here they become acquainted with on-screen characters: Liz, Luke, Noah, and Sperry as they interact with Ms. Anna at "The Station." Just like the video characters,  our children are able to ask their teachers about the Bible and get involved in learning what the Bible teaches about God, Jesus, and life.  They also play games and complete special projects as a group.

Middle  and High School Youth meet at

"The Common Ground Cafe"

Youth in grades 6 through 12 meet together in an atmosphere that is casual and relaxed. The "Cafe" is a popular gathering place for our young people and their friends.  Each Sunday their teachers challenge students to interact and discuss life situations that youth  face on a daily basis with the help of the Bible and other youth-targeted biblical resources.

Little Blue Activity Bags for younger children...
At Colesville, our young children are an important part of the life of the church.  To help them have apositive worship experience, parents are encouraged to pick up a special "Little Blue Bag" for the young child (ages pre-kthrough grade 4) from the rack in the narthex when entering the worship service.. These special "activity bags" are offered by Christian Education and contain pencils, paper, stickers, and Bible story pages to read and color during worship time.  Please be sure to return the bags to the rack when you leave and we will recycle it for the next service.

Club Can-do (children's church)
Children's Music Ministry

Three Sundays a month, during the 11:00AM worship service, younger children are invited to exit with an adult leader after the Children's Message.  During this time the children get to participate in music practice and fun activities.  Later, the children will return to the sanctuary during the singing of the Hymn of Consecration.  Club Can-do, is based on Phillipians 4:13:  I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me."  The Club is generally designed for young children four years of age through the 5th grade.
