United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) is open to all youth in grades 6-12. Our youth group is diverse, and is open and welcoming to newcomers. Youth fellowship is fun and focuses on helping youth develop a strong relationship with Jesus Christ while promoting safe, healthy and meaningful Christian fellowship with other youth.
Vacation Bible School Five-day summer program for pre-school children who are four years of age through grade 7. VBS typically takes place the las week in June.
Activities and Recreation Children and Youth enjoy age-appropriate Field Trips, Hayrides, Lock-ins, Bowling, Pizza Parties, Movie Outings, Basketball, Easter Egg Hunts, Fall Fests, Skits and Christmas Plays.
Retreats Youth are encouraged and supported in their Christian journey. Our youth often partner with youth from other United Methodist churches for such events as District events, ex: ROCK and Youth Conferences in Ocean City, MD, and Knoxville, TN.
Co-ed Youth Basketball (Cougars) Become a member of our co-ed Christian basketball team. Open to boys and girls in grade 6 -12. Team jerseys provided. Every child who shows up for practice gets to play in the games.
Nursery Parents leave your child in an environment that is nurturing, safe, clean, and professionally staffed on Sunday mornings for both the 8:30 and 11:00 services. We also have silent pagers upon request.
*Children's Music Ministry Open to all children pre-kindergarten and up! Singing in the chorus is a great way for children to be involved in the life of the church. We are currently rehearsing during the 11:00am worship service. (11:15 to 12:00noon on Sundays). For more information, click on the link to the Music page. *In addition to singing several times a year during 11:00am Sunday worship, the youth chorus is a major highlight of the annual Christmas Eve Family Service!
Community Service and Mission for all ages From collecting toiletries used in building "care kits" for the needy, to raising funds or performing tasks in support of such programs as: the Montgomery County Community Based Shelter, Shepherd's Table, Silver Spring Help, Souper Bowl of Caring, Church World Service Crop Walk, Homeless Walk, and American Cancer Society's Race For The Cure. Children and Youth of all ages are encouraged to participate in service to the local community and their neighbors in the mission fields.
Club Can-Do This children's church ministry engages children who are Pre-kindergarten (readers) through grade 5 in meaningful age-based Bible games, music and community service projects.
