Jerusalem Marketplace: a HolyLand Adventure Part II

Last year's VBS was so nice, we just have to do it twice! So, this June was just as wonderful. We had marketplace shopping, Bible days life experiences, Bible stories, music and crafts.

Children's Ministries

Colesville UMC is a Safe Sanctuary Faith Community

Church Nursery
CUMC is a Safe Sanctuary community. Our nursery is clean, safe, and professionally staffed. Nursery care is provided on Sunday mornings for both the 8:30 and 11:00 services.

We also have silent pagers upon request.

Kingdom Kids Club (children's church)
(Meets on Sundays during the 10:00AM Service)
Rotates with Kingdom Choir (see below). Children gather in classroom 27 for a time of songs, Bible stories, and crafts. Children return during the closing moments of the worship service.

Other Children's Activities
Worship Activity Bags, Easter Egg Hunts, Fall Fests, Storytelling and participation in Christmas Plays

Kingdom Choir (children's choir)
For young children, aged five and older. The children rehearse during the 10:00AM service and present their music before the congregation on a scheduled basis throughout the church year. All children are welcome to participate!

Annual Vacation Bible School

VBS takes place annually in June or July. Presented as a week-long biblically-based learning experience for children pre-K (age four) through youth in the 8th grade. The program runs from 9:30 to 12:15PM and includes Bible stories, crafts, games, music, and more.

Teens and Tweens Ministries

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

All youth, grades 6-12 are invited. We meet on the last
Sunday of the month, and at other times as scheduled. Our youth group is open to all youth ages twelve and older. We gather to hang out, share a meal, engage in Bible study, discuss issues that are relevant to our age group and reach out to the community in mission. Fellowship activities include: Wii games, going on Field Trips, Hayrides, Pizza Parties, Movie Outings, co-ed Basketball, and a host of other activities.

Youth Retreats

CUMC Youth have participated in exciting District events including: ROCK in Ocean City, MD, and youth conferences in Knoxville, TN.

Community Service and Mission

Both children and youth participate in numerous mission and community service projects throughout the year including the collection of toiletries used in building "care kits" for the needy, to raising funds or performing tasks in support of such programs as: the Montgomery County Community Based Shelter, Shepherd's Table, Souper Bowl of Caring, Church World Service Crop Walk, Homeless Walk,and Perpetual Prosperity Pumps (collection of gently used tennis shoes and soccer cleats).

Sunday School for children and youth, Kingdom Kids (children's church) and Kingdom Choir (children's choir)
